Get Loaner Caps and Gowns Available May 6, 7, 8 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. —
Seniors who do not want to purchase the cap and gown through the bookstore can come to the Usdan Administration Office and borrow a set, while supplies last, sizing not guaranteed. As each student comes to see us, we will need to see if we have the correct size cap and correct length gown. If we do, then they will need to fill out a form acknowledging that this is a loan and if it is not returned they will lose their deposit of $40. Cash or checks will be accepted. The cap and gown must be returned either on the day of commencement by 3pm or the following business day, Tuesday, May 28th between 9am-3pm (the office will not be open on Monday, May 27th). They still must purchase their tassel from the bookstore since those are year specific (~$3-$5). If we run out of caps, they can purchase them separately from the bookstore but not until the week before commencement.
If there are questions, contact Michelle Myers-Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Commencement is just around the corner and graduation regalia is now available for purchase at Broad Street Books.
The cost for a Bachelor’s Cap and Gown is $39.00 and includes your mortar board, gown, and tassel. The packages are sized according to height. Quantities by size are based on expected number of graduates and historical sales.
The earlier you come in, the more likely you are to get the exact size you need. In case you wondered, all Bachelor’s recipients wear red here at Wesleyan.
The bookstore is currently open normal hours:
Mon.-Fri. 9am to 8 pm and Sat. and Sun. 9am to 5pm
If you have any questions please contact the bookstore at 860-685-7323
Please note that student accounts can be used through May 8th.
As we begin the last semester of our senior year, we are yet again amazed at how quickly our time at Wes is coming to an end. Without a doubt, the last three and one-half years have been remarkable and we know this semester will be too!
If you would you like to share your Wesleyan experience at graduation as the 2013 Senior Commencement Speaker, simply submit a 200-250 word essay answering the following question:
What has your Wesleyan experience meant to you?
The essay should be roughly equivalent to the speech you wish to deliver at graduation. Completed essays should be emailed to Dean Brown (email@example.com) by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, February 15.
All essays will be reviewed anonymously by the Senior Commencement Speaker Committee. The committee will select several applicants from the essay submission pool as finalists for interviews, which will be conducted between Wednesday, February 27 through Friday, March 1. The speaker will be announced before spring break.
Speaking at Commencement is a unique responsibility that should be taken seriously. If you are interested in becoming the Senior Speaker for Commencement, please do not hesitate to submit an essay!
Good luck and all the best!
