Orientation Leader:
Orientation Leaders work with Resident Advisors to mentor and guide students during both ISO and NSO. Orientation Leaders also help manage events, including welcoming international students at airports, working at residence hall arrival sites, informational forums and social events.

Expectations: Orientation Leaders are expected to return to campus on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. All Orientation staff must attend training sessions on August 23-25, participate fully during both ISO and NSO (August 26-September 2). Any other commitment during this time period must be pre-approved by the Director of Orientation.

Terms and Benefits:
Period of work: August 22-September 2, 2011      Stipend of $200     Free room and board

WSA Student Groups Fair

On behalf of the WSA Office and the WSA:

Please join us tomorrow for our 20th Annual Student Groups Fair. It is going to be in Huss Courtyard right outside of Usdan under a large tent. We have our 100 groups with tables waiting to give the student body information. There will also be a raffle for an iPad as well as other prizes. Come show some support, sign up for groups, and get free stuff!

Dear Students,

Come out and mingle with other Wesleyan Students and Middletown vendors at the WSA’s 20th Annual Student Groups Fair!  This annual event celebrates our student body’s extracurricular initiatives and highlights the campus’ creativity and passion for different causes.

The event will take place on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on the Huss Courtyard (outside the Usdan University Center).  The rain location will be at the Hockey Rink.  Stop by, check out the groups, enjoy free samples from vendors like Tschudin Chocolates and Cold Stone Creamery, and enter your name into a raffle for great prize: An IPad!

Student Panel:  Caribbean Identities in the Wesleyan Community

What does it mean to be Caribbean?  How do Caribbean students identify away from the space and on the mainland?  How and in what circumstances does one identify (or neglect to identify) as Caribbean?  Questions like these and more will be addressed in this informal panel discussion.

Forum on Alcohol-Free Events — Thurs., 6 p.m.

The Alcohol & Other Drug Committee is sponsoring a forum this Thursday, March 24 for students interested in discussing alcohol-free event opportunities on campus. We will be gathering in Daniel Family Commons from 6-7 p.m., and providing dinner from Typhoon for the first 40 students.  

The student committee members will be running this forum, providing information on resources available (such as how to submit a request for SBC funding), and encouraging all attendees to brainstorm event ideas and to take leadership roles in expanding upon the social opportunities currently available on any given weekend.

The Office of International Studies & the Usdan Art Committee are pleased to announce that this year’s finalists for the International Photo Contest are now on display in the Zelnick Pavilion.

In addition, we invite you to join us for a reception celebrating the photographers on Wednesday, February 16th from 4:00-5:00pm.

 The winning photographs will be enlarged and displayed in the Usdan University Center later this month.
